About us

Biochemists, Biologists and Ecologists Student Association (ASB) is the only representative non-governmental organization at the level of Faculty of Biology of the University of Bucharest. A member of the Association of Students of the University of Bucharest (ASUB) and of the Union of Students of Romania (USR), ASB’s main aim is to ensure that the rights of the faculty’s students are respected, maintaining a permanent relationship with both the teaching staff and the management of the University of Bucharest. Its role is also to support and promote students’ interests. The Association of Biology Students aspires to involve biology students in as many projects and activities as possible to help them develop both personally and professionally.

Educational

The Education Department provides various programs, activities and resources that contribute to both personal growth and professional success: from organizing conferences and formative workshops, to growing innovative learning initiatives. The Education Department is also the primary liaison between students and faculty, facilitating communication with the faculty administrative committee, thus advocating for student interests and actively engaging in the processes of housing, student selection and faculty council candidacy, scholarship awards, and more.

Graphics and Promotion

The Graphics and Promotion Department represents the image of the Association, ensuring the continuous promotion of its activities. By combining several elements (text, promotion, graphics, social media), the Department ensures the visibility of the Association on as many platforms as possible to arouse the interest of both students/volunteers and sponsors. Also, every activity of the Association is immortalized by the members of the Department through photos, ensuring both precious memories and future promotional posts.

Fundraising

The Fundraising Department creates partnerships that enhance our opportunities, broaden our horizons and foster an inclusive network for our student community. Through these connections, the Association benefits from various sponsorships, which serve as a motivator for both volunteers and students to get involved in activities. The Fundraising Department is also in charge of centralizing sponsorship contracts and ensuring that every requirement is fulfilled.

Human Resources

The Human Resources (HR) Department's main aim is to integrate volunteers into the Association's environment by carrying out various bonding activities, as well as establishing a safe environment in which the Association can carry out its work. Thanks to the HR Department we are able to prevent and solve possible internal conflicts, helping the Association to become a functioning team. The HR Department also ensures the development of volunteers through specific trainings.

Projects

The Projects Department is responsible for monitoring ongoing projects and writing project maps. The Department's work is necessary to ensure that projects run as smoothly as possible, meeting deadlines and accomplishing their aims and objectives. The Department is also in charge of writing project maps to be presented to potential sponsors, aiming to obtain partnerships that will make various projects feasible.
