RESPONSIBLE MASTER: Conf. dr. Sorina DINESCU
sorina.dinescu@bio.unibuc.ro
MISSION:
Mission and objectives of the Master program Applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ABMB) are in line with the strategic objectives of the University of Bucharest and the Faculty of Biology. The master program is in Biologybeing a research master focused on applied and in-depth aspects in biochemistry and molecular biology. This program is part of internationalization strategy of the Faculty of Biology to be integrated into the European university consortium CIVIS. ABMB’s mission is to train specialists in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology and biomedical sciences, developing competences and research skills that graduates can then apply in research institutes, biomedical companies, the pharmaceutical and medical industry or in an academic career.
SCOP:
The ABMB Master program focuses on increasing competences and skills graduates in Biological and/or Biomedical Sciences by facilitating access multidisciplinary training, comparable to other European master programs, encompassing disciplines in the fields of cell biology, genetics, human sciences (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacogenomics), toxicology, as well as the mechanisms underlying pathologies and possible therapies for them. The ABMB program aims to provide graduates with the possibility of further access to an international doctoral program or integration into the research fields of the job market.
OBJECTIVE:
- to deepen the accumulated knowledge and to improve in biochemistry and applied molecular biology, as well as to specialize in the field of -omics: genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacogenomics, etc
- training competent specialists to solve problems in the field of biochemistry and applied molecular biology.
- acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the principles and use modern methods and techniques in biochemistry and molecular biology laboratories
- developing skills in experimental modeling, data processing and interpretation, as well as developing the ability to formulate arguments and decisions in a research context.
- developing the scientific research capacity of master students.
- promoting an interdisciplinary learning environment and international collaboration.
