Student Science Communication Session – May 30, 2025

On Friday, May 30, 2025, the Faculty of Biology of the University of Bucharest hosted the Student Scientific Communication Session, an event that has become a tradition, bringing together year after year the efforts, curiosity and enthusiasm of young researchers in training.

This year, the session had a special significance, being dedicated to the memory of Professor Dr. Lucian Gavrilă, renowned geneticist and lecturer at the Faculty of Biology. His impact on generations of students and the academic community remains profound and lasting.

🎓 Congratulations to all the participants for the quality of their work, for the seriousness, clarity and passion with which they presented their research! The presentations, given in three different sessions: undergraduates, masters and PhD students, reflected an impressive diversity of topics, ranging from genetics and molecular biology to ecology, physiology and bioinformatics, demonstrating once again the vitality and potential of university scientific research.

🙏 Special thanks go to the teachers involved – both the mentors who guided and supported the students in the preparation of their papers and the members of the moderating and jury committees, who contributed to the event running in the best conditions. Last but not least, we would like to thank the student volunteers who contributed to the jury sessions.

🤝 We would also like to thank this year’s sponsorsAventor, Molecular Genomics, Bluescreen and Omnigen – for their support and for encouraging performance among young researchers.

The Student Scientific Communication Session remains an essential space for the expression and validation of scientific ideas, but also a moment of celebration of knowledge and collective effort.

💡 We are happy to witness the first steps in research of a new generation of biologists and we are confident that we will hear many of these names in the future of Romanian and international science.

Congratulations to all of you and best wishes for many more successes!
